Hi, I’m Charley—an adventure travel expert focused on creating experiences that go beyond the typical path and actually change how you feel.

I’ve always been drawn to travel, adventure, and the outdoors—but what I didn’t realize at first is that the most meaningful journeys aren’t just about where you go. They’re about how those experiences change you, and how you take care of yourself along the way.

When I was 9 years old, I told my teacher I wanted to be a homeless artist when I grew up. A little over a decade later, I was traveling full-time across the United States with a mattress in the back of my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, a suitcase, and my three-legged cat, Coyote—working as a writer and building a life rooted in freedom and exploration.

That early full-time travel experience shaped how I see the world—and how I design trips today.

In those early years, my days were shaped by both movement and stillness—living an off-grid travel lifestyle where mornings were spent writing in quiet coffee shops, and afternoons discovering lakes, hot springs, waterfalls, and forests.

That balance—between adventure and restoration—eventually became the foundation of how I travel.

Since then, my journey has taken me across Europe, Asia, and South America. I spent a year living in the Sacred Valley of Peru, surrounded by towering mountains and deeply rooted traditions. It was there that my perspective on travel shifted even further.

I climbed mountains and glaciers, explored the Amazon Jungle, and connected with remote communities like the Q’eros high in the Andes. I spent a full day at a pre-Incan wind temple perched above an 80-foot waterfall—completely alone, immersed in the landscape, with nothing but the sound of the wind.

These weren’t just adventures—they were experiences that grounded me, challenged me, and restored me.

Over time, those experiences shaped my approach—not just as a traveler, but as a wellness travel expert focused on designing trips that include both exploration and intentional recovery.

There are countless incredible places in the world that go far beyond the typical trail—places that require curiosity, intention, and often the help of local guides to truly discover. But just as important as the adventure itself is what comes after: the space to recover, reflect, and reconnect.

That’s why I created Charley Off-Road—now evolving into a platform for adventure and wellness travel.

Here, you’ll find curated guides, itineraries, and insights that combine:

  • Remote and off-the-beaten-path destinations

  • Meaningful cultural experiences

  • Restorative wellness—from hot springs and nature escapes to luxury spas and retreats

Because the best trips aren’t just about pushing your limits—they’re about finding balance.

Whether you’re hiking through remote landscapes, exploring hidden cultural sites, or unwinding in a world-class spa after a long day of adventure, my goal is to help you create experiences that feel both exciting and deeply restorative.

I believe the most unforgettable journeys happen when you step off the standard path—but also give yourself permission to slow down, recharge, and truly take it all in.
